TAKEAWAY TEST: Huang Lou Xing, 309 Middlewood Road

Another midweek match night in the office brought another opportunity to sample some takeaway loveliness.

And we forwent the usual pizza this time for something of the Chinese variety.

The Singapore vermicelli was very good, packed with all manner of ingredients you expect and the decent kick of spice that you hope for. The salt and pepper chips could have done with a bit more of that to be truthful. My colleague across the desk was delighted with his king prawns in green pepper in black bean sauce which, accompanied by egg fried rice, was hearty and flavoursome. A free portion of chicken wings was certainly welcomed but they were not the meatiest and a little tough.
