ROTHERHAM Council has extended the deadline for its annual gardening competition to enable as many customers as possible to enter.
Council tenants and leaseholders have until July 31 to enter the event.
The aim is to encourage council tenants and leaseholders to take pride in their gardens.
This year there are new categories including best vegetable patch and best hanging basket, running alongside popular categories including tallest sunflower and best garden.
Rotherham Council’s safer estates manager, Andrew Leigh, said: “Many of our tenants and leaseholders take a great deal of pride in their gardens, which in turn improves the image of the area as a whole and makes Rotherham a more attractive place.”
