NATURE detectives are being called on at RSPB Old Moor reserve to help record as many different wildlife species as possible in the area.
The Barnsley Bioblitz will see scientists and the public working together to find, identify and record as many species as possible in 48 hours.
Spokeswoman Liane Holdsworth said: “A bioblitz is a bit like a stock-take for wildlife, and something anyone can get involved with.”
The bioblitz launches at 3pm on Friday, September 21, with guided walks on Saturday and Sunday. The final count will be at 3pm on Sunday. Entry is free for the weekend.
