Taekwondo: Stainforth teenager Bradly Sinden wins bronze medal at European Championships

Bradly Sinden won a bronze medal on his first senior appearance at the European Championships.

The 19-year-old, from Stainforth, won three matches before bowing out to Turkey’s Hakan Recber 39-46 in a thrilling semi-final.

Great Britain collected three gold medals, one silver and three bronzes in Russia to make it their most successful European Championships to date.

Sinden (-63kg) beat Mario Perez (Spain), Joel Gonzalez (Spain) and Jaouad Achab (Belgium) to qualify for a medal.

He won gold at the 2015 Junior European Championships and since then has cemented his place on the senior circuit, most notably winning bronze at the 2017 World Championships.

Doncaster’s Mason Yarrow, 17, lost 14-20 to Russia’s Magomed Gagiev at his first senior Euros.
