Glitz and glamour marked the launch of a new boutique in Rotherham designed to bring the humble charity shop to a new level.
Beauty queens and dignitaries turned out for the opening of Charity Chicks – raising cash for South Yorkshire’s Safe@Last – in Herringthorpe Valley Road, Rotherham.
The shop focuses on offering high-quality, pre-owned clothing in a swish setting.
The idea was inspired by Mary ‘Queen of Shops’ Portas, who visited the town’s high street in a Government scheme.
The Earl and Countess of Scarbrough and Miss Galaxy England Jamie Lee Faulkner were among guests.
Hilary Massarella, Safe@Last founder, said: “The shop funds our education work teaching children and young people about the risks and dangers of running away.”
