Swingtime for dad Don, 70

BIG-band leader Lee Hallam is making certain his dad Don's 70th birthday party goes with a swing.

He’s putting on a concert with his Swing Shift All Stars at the Abbeydale Picture House on Thursday, August 9, to celebrate.

All the proceeds will go towards the cinema’s restoration fund.

Says Lee, of Nether Edge: “Dad will be guest of honour, of course.

“He’s generously funded the concert himself.”

Trombonist Lee, who has worked with Johnny Dankworth and Cleo Laine, leads an all-star line-up.

He will be supported by the Sheffield Youth Big Band.
