Suspected loan shark arrested after raid in Sheffield

A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of illegal money lending, following a joint operation in Sheffield.

Police executed an arrest warrant at a city address, seizing documentation and a mobile phone.

The suspect is currently in custody being questioned by officers.

Tony Quigley, Head of the Illegal Money Lending Team said:“We will continue to work to combat loan sharks. They can cause untold misery to the most disadvantaged in our communities.

The England Illegal Money Lending Team works in partnership with Sheffield City Trading Standards and South Yorkshire Police.
