Police are investigating a suspected arson attack on a disused council building in Sheffield.

Firefighters spent around 90 minutes battling a blaze at the derelict building on Gayton Road, Pitsmoor, yesterday evening.

Crews from Elm Lane and Darnall put out the fire after being called to the scene at around 7.30pm.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was believed to have been started deliberately.
