Supporters of the Sheffield-based national charity heard about the progress made by Support Dogs' new puppy programme.

The Brightside-based charity set up the programme of recruiting puppies from the ages of eight weeks to help boost the number of prospective assistance dogs.

Seven of the puppies on the programme attended the tea party along with their puppy socialisers; volunteers who devote 12 months to providing the pups with a loving home and helping with their basic training.

Support Dogs' fundraising manager Danny Anderson said: 'We hope this event will help our supporters better understand the huge impact their support will make to the lives of many families.'
