Sheffield Hallam students are being offered counselling following the death of a fellow undergraduate.

Second-year sports science student Adam Taylor, aged 21, was found dead in his room at Pinnacles private student accommodation, Broad Street, last weekend.

Mr Taylor’s girlfriend raised the alarm after he could not be contacted.

Management at the accommodation gained entry to his room and he was discovered collapsed and unresponsive in the bathroom.

Ally Mogg, Hallam University spokesman, said: “We are doing what we can to support those affected by this tragedy, counselling is always offered to students in such circumstances.”

An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
