James said: “We really need people to join the St Luke’s team and help raise vital funds to help us continue caring for everyone across Sheffield.

“As Sheffield United’s Player Ambassador for the charity, I have visited St Luke’s and seen the great work they are doing for people with life limiting illnesses in Sheffield. But I also know that they need to raise at least £6.1 million annually to maintain their current levels of service so events like the Half Marathon are extremely important.

“By signing up and getting sponsors you’ll be giving yourself a great challenge but you’ll also cross the finish line knowing that you really have made a difference.”
