SAINSBURY’S supermarket has presented Emmanuel Junior School in Waterthorpe with a Community Grant for £200 to help fund the cost of fruit for its tuck shop.

The grant scheme is funded by sales of ‘Bags for Life’. Store manager Phil Finegold said: “Our store is at the heart of the community and it is important we do as much as we can to support it. When we heard about Emmanuel Junior School, we were really pleased to be able to help out.”

Last year the Community Grants scheme donated a total of £135,000 to good causes across the country.
