Superfast broadband now available to thousands in Sheffield city region
Some 10,000 businesses and households in South Yorkshire are now able to benefit from fibre broadband thanks to the Superfast South Yorkshire programme.
The project was formed last year as local authorities joined forces with BT in a £22 million deal to extend the availability of high-speed, fibre broadband to around 98 per cent of homes and businesses in the city region.
By the end of the project in 2017, the new technology will be available to 103,000 properties.
