Supercars wow city's shoppers at Meadowhall

The Supercar Experience saw over 50 members of Supercar Driver take Aston Martins, Lamborghinis and Porsches to Meadowhall so that shoppers could enjoy them close-up, take a ride or have their photograph taken next to one.

In return for a one-pound donation to South Yorkshire’s only children’s hospice, local businesses, including John Holland, JCT600, SMC Bikes, Leighton Vans and Peron Tuning, allowed people to get up close and personal with the car of their dreams.

Meadowhall’s charity partner for 2016/17, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, supports children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions, helping families both at the hospice and in their own homes.

Adam Thorby, director of Supercar Driver, said: “This is just one of the events we organise throughout the year to raise much-needed funds for Bluebell Wood. We recently hit a huge milestone of £50,000 and are very proud to add an additional £22,357.37 to that total.”

Meadowhall centre director, Darren Pearce, said: “The Supercars’ experience was an amazing day out at Meadowhall and the fact that over £22,000 was raised for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is incredible. You don’t have to be a fanatic to appreciate some of the spectacular cars that were on display. We are delighted to support Bluebell Wood.”
