ONE of Sheffield’s largest community festivals is being held again later this year.
Organisers of the Lowedges Festival have set the date for the 2013 event, which will be on Sunday, August 11, between noon and 5pm, at Greenhill Park.
Stephen Rich, of Greenhill and Bradway Tenants’ and Residents’ Association, said: “In 2012, despite a terrible summer, we had over 15,000 visitors to our festival – a huge achievement – and the festival is now considered to be one of Sheffield’s major events.
“We are proud to announce that The Star, Stagecoach and Sheaf Motors, of Dronfield, have already agreed to be our sponsors for 2013.”
Mr Rich added: “We are already booking all the acts for the stages and arenas within the park.”
But organisers are still looking for a sponsor for the dog show and have not yet lined up a big name to open the festival.
Mr Rich said that details will be announced at a later date of how organisations can reserve one of dozens of stalls which will be provided for community groups on the day.
