He returned to training at the Ingle gym yesterday saying he was looking forward to “those big fights” from Spring.

Leonard, 60, posted a video message directly to Brook saying: “I just want to say a speedy recovery to Kell Brook for his eye surgery that he suffered from Triple G in his fight. Just take your time.

“You fought magnificently, you’ll come back but give yourself time to heal totally, mentally, spiritually, psychologically and physically.”

Leonard also tweeted that Brook “needed a few more fights under his belt before fighting GGG” but added “this young man has so much potential heart.”

Welterweight world champion Brook felt ready to box Golovkin, at middleweight, but immediately after the fight suggested that he might campaign in future at light middleweight.
