A Sheffield mum is set to take on Sunday’s Stanage Stumble in memory of her 12-year-old daughter.
Faye Smith will join her son, Zach, aged 17, and other supporters for the 12-mile walk in memory of Gabi Smith, who died after suffering a suspected seizure while taking a bath in March last year.
The walk will raise money for Home-Start, a charity which supports vulnerable children and their families across Sheffield.
This is the fifth time Faye and Zach have taken part in the walk.
Gabi was due to complete the challenge last year, but died just weeks before the event.
Marketing and PR consultant Faye, of Ecclesall, said: “We are so grateful to Gabi’s many friends, family and even clients who turned up to walk with us last year and donated to Home-Start in her memory. We must have had about 40 walking with us, and each group got a bag of Gabi’s favourite sweets to share to remind them of her.”
