The trainees have also been putting together Christmas gift boxes for the Homeless and Rootless at Christmas charity, which provide shelter for vulnerable men and women between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day.

PET-Xi Training launched its traineeship in October to help young people aged 16-18, who are not in education, employment or training, find work or an apprenticeship.

Joint managing director, Fleur Sexton, said: “I’m so pleased to see how much has been achieved already as we reach the half-way point of the training. Our trainees have had to make all this happen by coming up with ideas, writing letters, making phone calls, attending meetings and keeping to a schedule – real life experiences which will help them in the future.”
