Strong winds topple tree onto M1 motorway near Sheffield
Drivers have been warned after strong winds toppled a tree onto the M1 motorway near Sheffield this morning.

The tree has fallen onto the carriageway at the southbound exit slip road at junction 31, the turn off for Aston.
A Highways England spokesman said: “We have a tree into lane 1. Traffic officers attending.”
Drivers across northern England are being warned of strong blustery winds which could make driving conditions difficult throughout much of the morning.
