Stretcher plan to raise money

MEMBERS of the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Search and Rescue Team are taking a stretcher out and about around Doncaster to raise cash to fund their work.

The organisation is holding the ‘charity stretcher carry’ and collection on Friday afternoon and into the evening.

Money raised during the event will help to fund the organisation’s control trailer and help to pay for other equipment used by the team.

The group has recently started a dog team and hopes to create water rescue and technical rescue teams in the near future.

A spokesman for the organisation said: “We are a lowland search and rescue team and part of ALSAR – the Association of Lowland Search and Rescue. We are staffed by volunteers and funded entirely by donations.”
