Heavy rain moving north-eastwards across England and Wales presents a risk of localised flooding, while motorists are warned to be wary of branches falling from trees in the high winds.

A yellow warning for rain has been issued for South Yorkshire.

Drivers have been warned to drive carefully on Snake Pass and the Woodhead Pass. Both roads are currently open.

A period of heavy, persistent rain is expected to move northeastwards Sunday night and Monday morning, bringing a risk of surface water flooding.

The rain is expected to clear northeastwards from southwest England by early Monday, from much of the Midlands around mid-morning, then finally clear from eastern England around Monday lunchtime.
