Bamford Post Office has been awarded a grant to create a community café when it moves to a new location.
The branch is relocating to Bamford’s community hub in the former Anglers Rest pub.
It is one of 25 post office branches across England which have been chosen as recipients of a grant worth up to £10,000 from the Post Office’s Community Enterprise Fund for their plans to support local people and businesses.
Bamford Post Office will use the grant to create a new café and pop-up gallery for local artists to display their work.
The grant will also be used to install an IT suite offering internet access. The current post office closes on January 22, reopening at the Anglers Rest the following day.
