Scott Ruthven's second half free kick secured a 1-1 draw after Casey Stewart gave Tadcaster the lead in the Evo-Stik East Division clash.

Both sides had chances before Stewart put Albion ahead on 32 minutes when a flick on from a corner dropped kindly just a couple of yards out.

Tadcaster pushed hard and it took a superb save from Jordan Amissah to tip a volley over the bar.

But Stocksbridge had their own moments with Rory Coleman firing wide and Tyler Williams shooting straight at the keeper.

Steels started the second half brightly with Alex Wiles firing over.

But Ruthven did draw them level on 58 minutes when his free kick deflected home.

Tadcaster thought they had retaken the lead but saw an effort ruled out with the ball adjudged to have not crossed the line.

Coleman struck the underside of the bar with a free kick as Stocksbridge threatened to nick it.

Chris Hilton's side were put through a nervy finish when Williams was sent off for a mistimed challenge late on but Steels held on with little fuss.

Elsewhere, Frickley Athletic suffered a 1-0 defeat at Gresley FC.
