ENTRIES are being accepted now for Tickhill’s second annual Scarecrow Festival, which will take place around the town on Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1.
Organisers Tickhill Together are making entry forms available for £1 from the Card Gallery on Castlegate, and each entrant will be responsible for the security of their creation during the festival, which runs from 10am to 5pm.
There will also be a scarecrow fancy dress competition for children at Tickhill Institute on the Saturday afternoon, and a band and Morris dancers will be added attractions.
The overall winners of the best scarecrow in the festival will be decided by a public vote. Voting slips will be incorporated into the programme on sale over the weekend.
In the run-up to the festival townsfolk will be encouraged to continue to keep the town tidy by picking up litter.
Tickhill Together will also be co-ordinating the flying of the banners from shops before the Tickhill Scouts annual gala being staged on July 2.
