A SHEFFIELD filmmaker has taken on the taboo subject of stillbirth to raise awareness.

Debbie Howard’s short film Peekaboo - starring Full Monty actress Lesley Sharp – explores the psychological trauma that can affect entire families when a baby is stillborn.

It was filmed in Sheffield earlier this year and has been paid for by £22,000 in fundraising and a further £15,000 offered in goods and services.

But an online campaign has also been launched to complete the clip so it can make it to the big screen.

Debbie runs production company Big Buddha Films and has been supported by the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity SANDS in making the film.

She said she was ‘overwhelmed’ with support so far.
