A STEEL trophy created, designed, cut and polished by some of Sheffield’s top businesses will be presented to the winners of the Made in Sheffield Awards tonight.
The trophies will be presented at Cutlers Hall at an event to celebrate manufacturers and manufacturing in the Sheffield city region.
The trophy was designed by company Fripp Design who developed the initial concept with Chris Knight, metalwork tutor at Sheffield Hallam University.
Tom Fripp said: “The trophy is designed to use technology both old and new but all local to the region.
“The main body was made using tube laser cutting equipment at the Laser Cutting Company in Darnall, the design was polished at the Special Metal Polishing Company Ltd and Durham Duplex machined the base.
“It’s been a real team effort and we’re all proud of the design, it’s something only Sheffield could have achieved.”
