Start of local Tour of Britain stage dedicated to brave Jane - VIDEO

FAMILY and friends of cancer campaigner Jane Tomlinson, who died last week, today took part in the Yorkshire stage of the Tour of Britain.

Husband Mike Tomlinson, as well as other relatives and close friends, started ahead of the 92 cyclists and completed the first mile of the race, which has been dedicated to Jane.

The riders started at Rother Valley Country Park at 10.15am and headed to Lister Park in Bradford.

Hugh Roberts, chief executive of the Tour of Britain, said: "This is a celebration of Jane's life, with a sport that Jane and her family enjoyed. It is also an event that Jane was intending to be at and we are delighted that her family and friends will be with us."
