Staff and supporters of South Yorkshire Children’s Charity SAFE@LAST will be crossing their fingers this Saturday when soap star Lucy Pargeter tries to win big for them on celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Lucy, who plays Chastity Dingle in Emmerdale, is a patron of South Yorkshire charity SAFE@LAST and will be playing alongside her on-screen son Danny Miller.

The pair are raising money for two charities including SAFE@LAST.

The charity works in the South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and North East Derbyshire providing services to young people who are at risk through running away or being thrown out of their homes.

The charity’s founder trustee Hilary Massarella said: “We are so grateful to Lucy for choosing to support SAFE@LAST in this way.

“During this difficult economic time we rely so much on the generosity of others to keep our services open and a big win on Saturday would really make a difference.

“Lucy is an excellent ambassador for SAFE@LAST and we’ll all be behind her.”
