But Bethany has shown incredible resilience in difficult circumstances, starting treatment for her own condition before focusing on helping others in a similar situation. Bethany has now begun working with younger people suffering from the same illness as her, helping them to start on the road to recovery.

She has also not let her condition get in the way of her studies and she is currently on track to achieving all As and A*s in her GCSEs next summer.

Beth has now taken the time to produce a video to help inform others about the stereotypes of eating disorders, which was shown recently at her school. She has hosted numerous fundraising events for a local eating disorder charity, taking part in various fundraising and bake sales throughout the year, in her effort to make a difference.

Every step of the way, she has shown true determination on her road to recovery.

Her impressive achievement was recognised with the Superkids Triumph Over Adversity award, which was sponsored by Outwood Academy City.
