Actress Jessica Ransom is urging fellow Sheffielders to sign up for a run in aid of elderly people.
She called on city residents to don their trainers for Age UK’s Wrap Up and Run 10km event on Sunday, March 30, in Graves Park.
A 2km walk will also run alongside the longer route.
Former High Storrs School pupil Jessica, who has appeared in Doc Martin, said: “Age UK does fantastic work in Sheffield and all over the country so I’m urging people in the area to get their trainers on and sign up for this great race. I’ve managed to persuade most of my family to run it with me, so I might well be giving my Mum a piggy back for some of it.
“Please join me at the start line.
“Money you raise is vital and will make a real difference to older people during the winter.
“Heading out for a run in January and February can seem intimidating, however it’s great once you’re out in the fresh air.
“I look forward to seeing you there.”
The run costs £18 to enter at www.ageuk.org.uk
