Staff threatened by axeman in Rotherham supermarket raid

Staff were threatened by a man with a small axe during a raid at a Rotherham supermarket.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery last Wednesday evening.

Officers were called at around 8.20pm to a supermarket in Thorogate, Rawmarsh, after a man entered the store.

He threatened staff before making off with money.

Enquiries are continuing and officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
