A team of fundraisers from Meadowhall are today taking part in a gruelling 405-mile cycle challenge for charity.
A 26-strong group of staff and business associates at the Sheffield shopping centre are setting off from the city to Paris in aid of St Luke’s Hospice.
They are hoping to raise more than £30,000 for the Sheffield hospice over the next four days, with a target of more than 100 miles to cover per day.
St Luke’s cares for adults of all ages throughout the city who have life-limiting illnesses.
The group is due to arrive in Paris on Saturday, ahead of the final stage of the Tour De France arriving the next day.
Meadowhall director Darren Pearce said: “I am delighted and very proud that so many people have put themselves forward for this huge challenge.
“It will be tough few days but it’s all for an amazing local cause, so I would like to thank everyone involved, from those taking part through to everyone that has made a donation. Every penny counts.”
