STAFF at a Sheffield hotel in Sheffield will be hitting the city streets for charity in the Great Yorkshire Run.
Nine members of staff from the Rutland Hotel on Glossop Road, Broomhill, will be running the 10k race on Sunday in support of the South Yorkshire Heart Appeal.
Team Rutland have been training for the last three months – and many of them had never run before.
“When I first started training, I couldn’t even run to the end of my street, so this is a real challenge for me, but I was determined to be part of the team,” said sales manager Katey Dent.
“Relatives of patients often use the hotel so we see first hand how important access to quality health care is and this is our way of helping to support this.”
The team will be carrying heart-shaped items on the day to raise awareness of the cause.
