Sri Lankan songs support Buddhist site

Have your say

Members of Sheffield’s Sri Lankan community are to take part in a special event.

They are due at the Sheffield Buddhist Centre, Howard Road, Upperthorpe, for a Sri Lankan -style Songs of Praise, from 2pm to 6pm.

The service will include a sermon delivered by a visiting Buddhist monk and will also feature music by a Sri Lankan choir.

There will also be a free buffet provided by a group of students from Sheffield Hallam University.

Organisers say there will be a small fee for entrance, which will be donated towards the running costs of the centre.
