TWO women were threatened by a “squinty-eyed” robber brandishing a knife as they walked along a Rotherham street.

The women, aged 44 and 63, were walking along Station Street, Swinton, when they were approached by a man holding a knife. He demanded the younger woman’s bag and, after a brief struggle, he pulled it from her and ran off.

Officers searched the local area and found the missing bag dumped in a bin on Charnwood Street. Some contents were missing, including a pink Sony Ericsson mobile phone.

The robber was white, 5ft 9ins, and in his late teens or early 20s, with “squinty” eyes. The robbery happened at 8pm on January 30.
