Generous folk across the city and further afield in South Yorkshire are planning all manner of events to raise money for Comic Relief, which fights poverty in the UK and across the globe.

Events taking place locally include a 'Big Bounce' at the Jump Inc trampoline park at Meadowhall, where fundraisers can pay the reduced rate of £6 an hour between 12pm and 5pm on Friday, with 20 per cent of proceeds going to the charity.

Clubbercise Mosborough is holding a danceathon this Friday evening, with participants asked to donate what they want to Comic Relief, and prizes on offer for the best outfit.

Johnston Press, which owns The Star, is also getting in on the act, with staff at its York Street offices planning a cheeseburger eating challenge, in which contestants will compete to see who can chomp their way fastest through 10 burgers.

* Let us know if you're planning an event and we'll do our best to add it to the list. We'll also be featuring a selection of the best Red Nose Day photos so please send your snaps via Twitter, Facebook or by emailing [email protected].
