Jessica Ennis has agreed to take part in a charity fundraiser at the City Hall in Sheffield.
An Evening with Jessica Ennis will give people the chance to hear her story on Friday, November 30.
Dan Walker, BBC sports presenter and host of Football Focus who also covered the Olympics, will be interviewing Jessica on the night.
The Children’s Hospital Charity, of which Jessica is a patron, has been working closely with her and Dan to plan the evening’s entertainment.
David Vernon-Edwards, charity director, said: “Jess is an incredible inspiration to the patients at The Children’s Hospital and has given a huge boost to our running campaign this year too, persuading record numbers of people to run with us.
“The Children’s Hospital here in Sheffield is incredibly lucky - and very proud - to have someone like Jess in its corner.”
Also benefiting is the charity Taste which helps rural Nigerian communities gain access to clean drinking water and the University of Sheffield’s Elite Sport Performance Scheme, which will also benefit.
Dan, from Sheffield, said: “Jess has got the spotlight on Sheffield and rightly so. It’s great that we can put on this fantastic event and also support some extremely worthy causes. We’re both very excited to be gracing the Sheffield City Hall stage.
“When Jess won the gold medal she was staggered by the amount of support and nowhere has supported her better than her home town of Sheffield.”
Tickets for An Evening with Jessica Ennis, at £15, £20 and £30, will be available from Sheffield City Hall box office from 9.30am today.
