Wright, who helped the club strike gold in the Championship Pairs last week, will meet fans at the Owlerton entrance ahead of tonight’s big league meeting with Lakeside.

He’ll be alongside fellow Pairs winner Kyle Howarth with the trophy and signing autographs.

And he’s revealed how experience in Poland is making him a better rider.

“I want to go as far as I can,” he added.

“I never set any big targets, as long as I am going forward every year which seems to be the case I feel like I am going in the right direction.

“Getting myself into Poland was a big step up for me and we will see what happens. I have had three meetings and they seem happy with me, Opole is a good club and they give you a chance.

“I had one bad meeting but I have kept going having scored 13 on my debut.

"They know what I can do, they always watch my scores and speak with me on the phone about my progress so I am happy to be there.”

What next, then? How about Sweden?

Understandably on the back of his 2018 to date, Wright is making no bold predictions. He is simply happy to be doing his own thing.

“We will see what happens next, I am ready for anything. I have finally got more equipment, which is what it is all about in Europe,” he added.

“It is an expensive sport so you’re always looking for sponsorship to help you to progress.
