Specsavers in Sheffield collects glasses for less fortunate

Specsavers in Hillsborough is urging people to dig out their old, unwanted glasses to be donated to those in need in the developing world.

Last year, the Specsavers store on Middlewood Road, collected more than 4,500 pairs of old frames from local customers.

They were then donated to Vision Aid Overseas.

Gary Bamford, director of Hillsborough Specsavers, said: “Professional eye care is available to the whole of Britain. So why should we let others in poorer countries suffer?
