Hide AdLaura Claveria, Heritage Engagement and Learning Officer at St Marie’s Cathedral, said: “This is a first both for St Marie’s Cathedral and Sheffield – a free one-day festival showcasing the unique crafts, dance and music of the Spanish-speaking countries.
“St Marie’s is made up of a wonderfully diverse and multi-cultural community. Parishioners come from all continents and speak around seventy languages. We wanted to celebrate this diversity and decided to organise a festival focusing on the Spanish-speaking community, one of the strongest and, culturally speaking, richest groups.”
There will be a temporary exhibition at the Winter Garden on May 14, which will be on display in St Marie’s until the end of the summer.
