Nature fans in South Yorkshire are being called upon to take part in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.
The popular event, on January 24 and 25, is fun for all ages and it’s easy to join in.
Participants simply need to count the birds in their garden or local park for one hour over Big Garden Birdwatch weekend and send the results to the RSPB.
For a second time in the event’s history, participants are also being asked to log other wildlife such as hedgehogs, badgers and frogs.
Jo Keene, of the RSPB, said: “Last year, around half a million people took part and seven million birds were counted, so we are hoping even more people join in this year, as the more people involved, the more we can learn.”
