The South Yorkshire Police website has fallen victim to an albanian hacker group.

The group, who call themselves nofawkX-al, took over the website this afternoon.

A video shows scenes of what appears to be the Albanian football team.

Text underneath says: “Red And Black I Dress, Eagle On My Chest, Keep My Head Up For The Flag I Die, It’s Good To Be Albanian.”

Other websites have also been targeted by the hackers, including the Greenbank College in Liverpool and a parish council in Wales earlier this year.

A police spokesman tweeted: “Please be aware the SYP website is currently down, we’ve had a number of calls. Appeals can be accessed by visiting SYP FB page”
