STAFF at a South Yorkshire college nursery are celebrating after receiving recognition for their hard work in providing quality learning experiences for youngsters.
Rotherham College of Arts and Technology’s Rother Valley Day Nursery has been honoured with a Quality in Action award from Rotherham Council for its commitment to quality.
At a celebratory event at the Rother Valley Campus, parents and their little ones were invited to attend a buffet and watch the council present the award to the nursery staff.
The achievement came following a number of improvements to customer care.
The team have worked hard to develop partnerships with parents and increase communication, including providing a noticeboard for parents, a ‘talking wall’, and stay-and-play sessions.
Overall, the nursery was found to provide a rich environment which reflected the children’s interests and needs, providing a stimulating yet calm atmosphere with opportunities for the youngsters to be creative.
To mark the occasion, parents and toddlers took part in a tree-planting ceremony to honour the nursery’s achievements.
Helen Talbot, college assistant principal, said: “This is a proud moment for staff and for parents. The staff have worked very effectively as a cohesive team to provide top -quality provision for those children, parents and guardians who all use the day nursery.”
