A South Yorkshire man has been charged with an arson attack at a travellers' site following a double murder.

Swayley Smith, aged 23, of Ings Road, Barnsley, has been charged with four other men and a teenage boy, all from Ipswich and Essex, over an arson attack at the West Meadows travellers' site, Ipswich, where two caravans were torched and a horse was killed.

They are accused of arson with intent to danger life and criminal damage.

The incident on Sunday night came the day before a 17-year-old boy was due in court over two murders at the travellers' site on Thursday, December 8.

Barry Street, 32 and 18-year-old Nathan Oakley were both stabbed to death.
