This is South Yorkshire flasher being hunted by police

The man exposed himself to pensioners in Rotherham after throwing stones at the windows of their homes in Rawmarsh and Swinton in Rotherham last week.

On Monday January 4 at about 4pm, there were two reports of an unknown man throwing stones at the windows of an elderly care home in Wortley Avenue. At 6pm that evening, two further incidents occurred, one at an elderly woman’s house in Valley Road and another at a house in Piccadilly Road. The man is then believed to have exposed himself while being verbally abusive when the residents went to the window.

On Thursday January 7 at about 5pm, police received a further report where a man knocked on the door of a house of an elderly resident in Valley Road, Swinton. It is then reported that the man exposed himself and was verbally abusive again.

Officers have released an e-fit image of a man they would like to trace.

Detective Inspector Steve Brookes said: “Since reports of these incidents, we have increased the police presence in the area and our Police Community Support Officers are continuing to carry out house to house enquiries and provide reassurance to those living in the area.

“These incidents have clearly been very distressing for those involved and I would like to reassure residents that we are doing everything we can to track down this individual.

“We have released an e-fit image of a man we believe is responsible for these offences and I would ask anyone who recognises the man or who may know who he is to get in touch with us.

“If you have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incidents, and who matches the e-fit image, please let us know.

“I would also ask people to make any elderly relatives they have living in the area aware of the incidents and to pass on our reassurances.”
