South Yorkshire fire service worker to run marathon for cancer victim

A member of staff from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue will be taking on a marathon challenge, as he puts on his running shoes in support of his close friends' grandchild.

Emergency planning officer Russ Parramore, from Chapeltown, will be running the London Marathon in support of his friends’ grandchild, Benjamin Robinson, who was diagnosed with Leukaemia at three years old.

He will be donating all his sponsorship money to CLIC Sargent – a charity that supports children, young people and their families from the point of diagnosis onwards.

Since his diagnosis, Benjamin, aged four, has been receiving treatment at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital
