South Yorkshire fire service called out to multiple deliberate fires

South Yorkshire was plagued with eight small fires from last evening to the early hours of this morning.

Items including wheelie bins, skips and piles of rubbish had been deliberately set alight.

One skip which had been set on fire required two fire engines, as it had spread to the outside windows of a property on Alma Road, Moorgate in Rotherham. The crews were on the scene until gone 10.30pm last night.
