Firefighters were called to a house blaze in Eastern Close, Dinnington this morning.

Crews attended the semi-detached property at around 4am this morning.

The house was well alight when crews arrived and no one was in the property at the time.

Fire investigation work is underway to establish the cause of the blaze.

Firefighetrs from Cudworth were called to a garden blaze in Tuxford Crescent, Cundy Cross, Barnsley around midnight last night.

A brazier fire had spread to bins at the back of the property and caused damaged to the double glazed windows in the property.

The occupants who had been burning rubbish in the brazier went to bed after believing the fire was out.

A passer by contacted firefighters to report the incident.

No one was injure in the blaze but firefighters say the situation could have been a lot worse.

A spokesman said: "If it wasn't for the passer by reporting the blaze things could have been very different. This just goes to show that you should never leave a fire unattended."

Firefighters were called after a driver collided with a lamppost in Monk Bretton, Barnsley last night.

No one was injured in the incident.
