Fire Safety Team Leader Richard Clark and Roger Brason, Sprinkler Advocate for SYFR gave keynote presentations to the invited audience of 90 people on collaborative working on large retrofit projects and Evacuation in Residential Care Facilities

SYFRs Technical fire safety manager Amy Jenkinson, said: “The combination of working smoke alarms and a home sprinkler system reduces the risk of death from fire by more than 80%.

“Automatic fire sprinklers are most effective during the initial stage of a fire occurring, as a properly installed sprinkler will detect the flames heat, initiate an alarm, and activate just moments after the flames appear.”

“With an ever increasing aged population, coupled with other social factors, automatic fire sprinklers now make increased common sense as a life saving addition to the built environment.”
