South Yorkshire community groups awarded cash grants

Three Sheffield community groups have been awarded grants from The Veolia Environmental Trust.

Veolia, which operates Sheffield’s household waste collection service, donated £22,500 to the Edward Street and St Georges Tenants’ and Residents’ Association to improve a play area.

St Thomas’ Church in Crookes has been awarded £40,000 to redevelop and extend their community centre in Crookes.

And Mexborough Miners Welfare Institute and Recreation Ground has received £37,752 towards a pavilion refurbishment.
